Dear Flabby

Dear Flabby: My sister is constantly dieting. She can't even start her day with getting on the scale to see exactly how much she weighs. I have heard that it's not a good idea to put so much stock in what the scale says. It can say unkind things and ruin your day. Do you think we should be so obsessed with what the scale says? - Numb from Numbers

Dear Numb: I had to learn the hard way that the scale can say unkind things and ruin your day. Last week I was in the drug store waiting for my prescription (the newest diet drug, of course), when I noticed a big scale by the door. A sign above it read "25¢ Will Tell Your Weight and Your Fortune." I inserted a quarter and stepped up. The numbers began to flash, and a ticket popped out. It said, "One at a time, Please!"
